When I saw this bold summer dress, I wasn’t sure I would get a lot of wear out of it. I live in a city that has a very short summer and doesn’t get all that warm. And it is strappy which is not usually something I would wear.

However, I love the print and when I put it on, the fabric felt so comfortable and easy to wear. It was also on super sale at $20 so what I thought – What the heck! I am on holiday and this is one good bargain.

I did wear it on its own for about the 2 seconds that was summer, but I loved it more when I put a top on and it looks like I am wearing a skirt more than a dress aka a skirt-dress. The thin fabric makes it work, where a bulkier fabric may have failed. I think it looked great on me as a pear. Wearing it this way also tones down the print and brings up the chic in my opinion. And probably the fact that I can increase its wear rotation from 2 days/year to 100 days/year is the best thing of all. I am nothing if not practical!
